As soon as my VE teacher Ms.Fredericks informed me about the amazing opportunity that Jimmy gave us I immediately knew it was special. Ms.Fredericks talked very highly of Jimmy, and I did my own research and knew he was the real deal. Ever since I came into this program I’ve learned so much about how to market yourself and about the ins and outs of the marketing industry. Mr.Newson has so much insight and he loves to share all the knowledge he’s encompassed in the marketing space. My vision is to go into law enforcement, eventually becoming a FBI agent.
Why I choose this to be my vision is because I've always had a passion for helping people, and ever since I was little I fell in love with watching tv shows about cops and FBI agents so i was hooked from a young age. I feel like if i were to be in a position of law enforcement i would be able to use my skill set and resources to help other people. This ties in with what I think my purpose is, for me my purpose is to help others and make sure justice is preserved and upheld. I've always wanted to help others who might not be able to help themselves and ultimately try to make the world a better place one step at a time.
I feel like a position in law enforcement gives me this opportunity and would strengthen all the grit, determination, and passion I have for my city. I can use my ardent nature to shape this city into a better place for the youth. I truly believe that everything comes full circle; my circumstances did not define me, but instead, perpetuated me to push myself to recognize the state of my community, and encouraged me to take action. Along these lines, it was important to realize where I came from and face the fear of becoming another statistic.
In order to achieve all of these goals my mission is to focus on my college career because I believe education is key in order to succeed in life. Throughout my college career I inspire to come across many opportunities in order to prepare me for what is to come in the future. Although i know i may come across many obstacles and challenges i hope i can do enough to overcome them. Fear has undoubtedly been the greatest motivator in my life. There was the fear of poverty, and thus a drive to be successful. The concept of stagnation invoked distress, consequently inspired growth.
There was apprehension towards fear, but this led to an overwhelming desire to transform the parent of this terror. I want kids that come from my community to not worry about whether it's safe to go outside, or live in fear due to the violence in their communities. I know I'm only one person but if I can make a few kids' lives just a little bit safer and more secure it'll go a long way. Especially when they remember what someone did for them, they might want to do the same in the future creating an endless cycle.
